Airgun Mods and Customizing (Part 2) Crosman

The Crosman 2240, 2250, 2260, 1377 and 1322 air rifles and pistols are but a few models of the Crosman product line that have a longstanding and widespread tradition of customization.

Serving as positive examples of enhancements in performance, looks and fitness for a particular use.

Case In Point: Model 2240 and 2250 .22 Caliber, CO2 Pistol and Rifles.

The 2240 Pistol and 2250 Carbine are bolt action, fixed barrel CO2 guns that are both affordable and accurate straight from the box. The barrels are excellent, the metal parts are well fitted and practicaly finished. The imitation wood (plastic) stocks on the pistol (and to a lesser extent the modern synthetic stock of the carbine) leave many purchasers a little unsatisfied. The other primary complaint is the difficulty in mounting a scope or optical sight on these models. Crosman does offer an "intermount" device as an option, however it too leaves something to be desired. Please do not think these short commings lessen the value of this incredibly in expensive and practic;e american made product, they are not. They are also not something that we have to live with.

Alternate pistol grips and stocks are offered by US makers including RB Grips (who's grips are also offered through the Crosman custom shop) and delivery completely with regards to looks and function.

Extended Metal Breeches allow proper mounting of an optical sights and free-floating of the barrell (if you find that desirable.) These are also available through Crosmans own custom shop as well as a number of other firms that specialize in enhancements to these guns.

Like a custom pistol and rifle firearm firm like Les Baer or Wilson Custom, air gun tuners and manufacturers such as "Crooked Barn", "Mountain Custom" or Dennis Quackenbush provide modifications and custom parts that truly take the Model 2240 and 2250's to a new level.

In addition to custom stocks & extended breeches, these firms also offer custom trigger jobs, rebarreling, and power system upgrades.

Let's look at some examples
